1. About this policy

This policy explains how the Risk Safety Services eLearning website and LMS use cookies and similar storage or access technologies. It should be read with the eLearning Privacy Notice.

2. What are cookies and similar technologies?

Cookies are small files or pieces of information stored on or accessed from a user's device. Similar technologies can include web storage, tracking pixels, scripts, tags and other mechanisms used to store or access information on a device.

3. How the eLearning service may use them

secure login, authentication and session management;

shopping basket, checkout and purchase functions;

fraud prevention and account security;

remembering user choices or preferences;

delivering course/video functionality;

recording cookie preferences;

diagnosing errors and maintaining performance; and

analytics or other optional functions where permitted and, where required, consented to.

4. Cookie categories

Category Purpose
Strictly necessary Required for core functions such as login, security, checkout, or a service specifically requested by the user.
Preferences/functionality Remember choices or support optional functionality.
Statistics/analytics Help us understand use of the eLearning website/LMS and improve the service, subject to applicable legal requirements.
Optional/third-party Used for non-essential integrations or other optional services; consent will be obtained where required.

5. Consent and exceptions

Where consent is required under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR), we will obtain a clear positive choice before using the relevant technology. Non-essential technologies will not be activated before consent where consent is required. Users will be able to withdraw or change consent through the available controls.

Some technologies may be used without consent where a specific legal exception applies. Where an exception requires information or a simple means of objecting, we will provide this as required.

6. Cookie controls

Where applicable, users will be provided with Accept, Reject and Manage Preferences controls. Rejecting optional cookies will not prevent access to core purchased training, although optional functionality may be affected. Users should be able to revisit their choices through a persistent Cookie Settings or equivalent control.

7. Current cookie inventory

The exact cookie and technology inventory must reflect the live eLearning website and LMS. The current list should identify the name, provider, purpose, category, duration/expiry and whether consent is required.

XSRF-TOKEN Risk Safety Services Limited (First-party) Security cookie used to prevent Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) on registration, login, and payment forms. Session / 2 Hours Strictly Necessary (Consent Exempt)

8. Third-party services

Third parties used for payment, video delivery, analytics, security, support or other functions may use cookies or similar technologies. We will assess those technologies and identify third parties in the cookie settings where required.

9. Changes

We may update this policy when the website/LMS, cookies, providers or law changes. The developer must ensure the live cookie inventory and consent controls remain consistent with this policy.
