1. Our commitment

Risk Safety Services Limited is committed to making its eLearning website, learner portal and online training content as accessible and usable as reasonably possible for disabled people and users of assistive technologies.

2. Scope

This statement applies to the Risk Safety Services eLearning website, LMS user interface, learner account area and online Course content under our control. It does not automatically cover third-party websites or content supplied by third parties outside our control.

3. Accessibility approach

We aim to follow recognised accessibility good practice, including relevant Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) principles where reasonably applicable to the service. Accessibility will be considered as courses and the LMS are updated.

4. Features we aim to support

clear headings, page structure and navigation;

keyboard access to core LMS functions;

visible focus indicators where implemented;

readable text and appropriate colour contrast;

form labels and understandable error messages;

avoidance of relying on colour alone for important information;

responsive layouts for suitable desktop, tablet and mobile devices;

captions, transcripts or equivalent support for training media where reasonably practicable and appropriate;

accessible alternatives for meaningful images and controls where applicable; and

reasonable compatibility with current mainstream browsers and assistive technologies.

5. Course videos and multimedia

Where training includes video, audio, animation or interactive content, we will seek to provide reasonable accessibility support appropriate to the material. Some legacy or third-party content may have limitations, which will be reviewed as the course library is updated.

6. Assessments and forms

Assessment questions and learner forms should be designed with clear instructions, understandable labels and keyboard usability where reasonably practicable. If a learner experiences an accessibility barrier that prevents completion, they should contact us so that we can consider a reasonable alternative.

7. Known limitations

The eLearning platform is developing and some areas may not meet every accessibility expectation in all circumstances. Accessibility may also depend on the learner's device, browser, assistive technology and third-party integrations. We will prioritise material issues according to impact, feasibility and user need.

8. Reporting an accessibility problem

If you experience difficulty accessing the website, LMS or a Course, please contact us and tell us the page or Course affected, the problem encountered, the device/browser used and any assistive technology involved where relevant. We will review the issue and, where appropriate, provide a reasonable alternative or make an improvement.

9. Review

This statement will be reviewed periodically and after significant LMS or Course changes. The accessibility position of the live production service should be reviewed before launch and after major updates.
